Brownback made the ACU's standout list for voting with them 100% of the time in 2005.

He describes himself above as: "I am an economic, a fiscal, a social and a compassionate conservative," Brownback said last month.

Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS)

actually, Brownback voted against the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006, which the ACU reported. He does not have a rating of 100%.
Brownback is an open borders extremist, just this side of the racist marxist Huckabee.

I am one of his constituents, have met him and have discussed issues with him.

He's not Presidential Timber, more like a Thistle - that's a noxious weed out here in Kansas

He is a pro-life conservative.

I want to see how well he thinks on his feet in front of a camera. Also, how good of a public speaker he is and if there's any money behind him.

I do know he left the Methodist Church a few years back to become a Roman Catholic.

He is a pro-life conservative.

True, but he's also a lightweight. He's not going to do our cause any good. Trust me on this, he is not going to stand up to the heat of the stage lights.

He's doing an excellent job where he is, in the Senate.

Trust me on this, he is not going to stand up to the heat of the stage lights.

That is what I want to see. I want to see him operate under pressure in the spotlight.

He will rise or fall quickly.

What are his views regarding immigration? Also what as he done to counter govt spending? Its all well and good to claim one is this or that but the bottom line remains - has he taken an active part in reducing the size of the Fed Gov or is he a "compassionate conservative" i.e. spend money like a liberal but you're forgiven if you mention Jesus and God as the reason for the taxpayer theft.

" Brownback voted against the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006, which the ACU reported"

According to this website Brownback voted FOR comprehensive immigration.

http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=109&session=2&vote=00157

He voted with Kennedy, Chafee, Clinton, McCain just to name a few on the comprehensive bill S2611.

Is he lying now or are you mistaken?

Thus far he gets my support. I wish he would ditch the compassionate part.

Go to the above link at the ACU and check out their list of "Yea" votes.

On that list they say that Brownback voted "yea."

I'd say that they have made a mistake on this "list of votes" page.

Correction: on the list of votes page they say he did not vote with them.

Apparently they opposed that bill and Brownback voted in favor of it.

I'd say that they have made a mistake on this "list of votes" page.

The link you referred me to shows that Brownback voted along with Clinton, Obana, McCain, Chafee, Jeffords, etc., Democrats and Rinos. They all voted for S2611 the comprehensive immigration bill.

He is my Senator so I already know I like him. He picked up the compassionate label when Bush came along. I would like to see him drop that. I bought it in 2000, but at this point I'm sick and tired of it. Anyway, I totally respect the man. He would make a fine President.

Here's from a previous post on FreeRepublic on Social Security for Illegal Aliens:

The Eleven GOP Senators who voted to give Social Security to Illegals (Vanity)

O.K. Freepers, here’s the list of Pubbies who voted with the Dems Thursday to give Social Security benefits to Illegal Aliens.

Brownback (KS)

Chafee (RI)

DeWine (OH)

Graham (SC)

Hagel (NE)

Lugar (IN)

Martinez (FL)

McCain (AZ)

Specter (PA)

Stevens (AK)

Voinovich (OH)

I must admit that I was shocked by Brownback’s and Lugar’s votes.

-- Brownback is also responsible for importing thousands of African muslim tribesmen and dumping them in Maine, SC, Virginia and California to live on welfare - after making sure they would never be put in his homestate of Kansas. FYI Rino alert.
