Take all the issue you choose but here is the DEFINITION of the word.
Bastard...Illegitimacy, the circumstance of being born of parents who are not married to one another.
I didn't invent the word, I only used it correctly. If you have umbrage, take it up with Webster.
Decent folks like you and your family long ago fled the "hoods" in which the thugs predominate. I'll bet most of the kids in those surroundings never have contact with a positive role model, more's the pity.
Especially since the thug life and its deleterious effects help to foster racism.
Yes....here in Atlanta they had to change the term "White Flight" to "Bright Flight" to more accurately describe the phenomenon.
Well stated. As a friend of mine once said,"Black mothers RAISE their daughters and LOVE their sons"
I KNOW what the technical definition of the word is but lets get real-You don't stigmatize a child with the "bastard"brush because of something his parents did-or DIDN'T do.
It is the WORD.
If you call a female dog a bitch you are using the WORD correctly....not demeaning the dog.
**It would great if the so-called leaders of the black community, would stress the importance of marriage and abstinence instead of racism.**
I believe that you nailed it.
But that's not a message you are likely to hear from black leaders because it would be so unpopular.
In other words, it would require that the community accept some responsibility for the problem. That is not a message that is consistent with the idea that ALL problems stem from racism, which is the only thing "black leaders" have to sell.
It is indeed a sad situation. One in which PC prevents anyone from even acknowledging the problem, let alone looking for a solution.
Yeah, but calling a dog a bitch won't have her attacking you.
Try standing in front of a class at a ghetto school and saying,"hello, you little bastards"and then try to explain to them why bastard is just a word and not derogatory at all.
I realize there are murders everywhere between all types of people but I think the main point is that this is a catastrophe happening to a small segment of the population and its completely off limits to talk about it.
Of course if you designate the problem as black on black its inherently racists from the get go. But how do you talk about it? How do you attempt to find solutions? How do you fix it if we cant describe what is happening?
Isnt it more racist just to ignore it? Just a bunch of young black males killing each other
not my problem.
As I stated earlier,I DO talk about it.
In fact,at one of our toughest ghetto schools here,I overheard a teenager make a "F the white man"comment.I snapped at him,"Look partner, all those dead black bodies in our town aren't because the KKK rode through here.Black folks are doing this s--- to EACH OTHER"
Shut that boy up real fast.No one in the class said a word? Why?Cause they knew this middle aged honkie was RIGHT.
Just be a truth teller.Black folks aren't going to bite your head off.Quite to the contrary, they will respect you.
just a hunch
Where's the financial angle?
I think you are right that a high percentage of black folk want straight talk about the issue. I didnt mean to imply that it was you personally. But the national dialog is hijacked by pc old media who consider any discussion of the issue as racism. They jump at the chance to play the racist card to protect African-Americans.
Its time we ordinary folks stopped letting the PC media restrain us and not be so scaredy cat about offending blacks or anyone else.
Just be a truthteller, thats all that matters.I could give a flying fart what Jesse Jackson thinks of me.Most everyday black folks laugh at him behind his back anyway. No big secret there.
