Rubbish? An non-competitive America is rubbish. We are screwed to the hip with Mexico for cheap labor. Without her we have -0- manufacturing base. Why? Our folks won't work for 8 bucks a day to make stuff. Mexico's our best chance to continue to compete. We are staying ahead today only because of our technology head start. Soon we won't have an advantage with technology and then it'll be mano a mano.

Even if what you say is true (which I deny), being noncompetitive is far better than being nonexistent. We can recover from any period of demonstrated lack of competitiveness. But once America is lost, that's that. It will never be recreated, at least not in our lifetimes.
