They burn out fast in the garage because of the cold temperatures. They don't fit in most of my ceiling fixtures. They are very expensive. I have one inside my fridge. I don't expect it will ever need to be replaced (no problems thus far). It fit in a space for a compact appliance bulb (it was the only bulb I had on hand at the time). It cost about $1.60.

I have one inside my fridge. If it ever breaks, I recommend cleaning the fridge and tossing the food. They do have mercury.
