#257, Mccain has built a machine that will not get him past the Republican Primary. He has to get through freeper types, and we would have him retire this minute and go haunt a house or something if it were not for a Lib Democrat Governor in Arizona. Mccain has mostly support of Rinos and Rats, neither can help win the Primaries.

I have been poo pooed before on this comment, but I think McCain isn't setting up to get the Republican nomination.  I think he's building his hopes on an independent candidacy, maybe with a Democrat as his running mate as a "unity" ticket.  He's already said he won't take federal funds which will allow him to take and spend much more private money. 

I don't think it has a chance in hell of working, but I think that's what he thinks will work for him.  I agree 100% with your assessment of his chances in the Republican primaries.

You could be right, and if this happens it could actually cause a three way race which could get very interesting. Problem is if he is going to go independent he sure is waiting until the very ,very last hour to do it. Pragmatically speaking his chance would be far better just switching parties, but if he is not at the top of the ticket I don't think he would. And hillary will never give up her Queen status.

#405, you may be right using the "caveat" that it is what "he thinks will work". He is a delusional fellow and he has the Media Mental Midgets helping him along hoping he will do a Ross Perot and set up a Democrat President with 40 percent of the Vote. MMM, I like that Media Mental Midgets, it fits. As an Aside , I believe that JImmah (the snake) Carter was the last Democrat to get over 50 percent of the Vote. Come to think of it, he was the only Rat to get 50 percent except for LBJ.
