I was just an Army SGT at the White House when President Ford was there. When we passed by he would usually nod or throw a good morning my way. Carter never did. It was an honor just to hold an umbrella over The President or Mrs Ford. They were just common, good people.

I just watched and heard the words given by Dick Cheney.

Never a greater tribute has one man given another. It left me tearful.
