The President's plane is arriving at Andrews Air Force Base at this moment.
True, too...
I'm not sure just how you get part of that elite guard, the sailor from our area is only 19 (!) - it seems he especially applied for that position...will have to look up the article again in our newspaper.
Every time they show Betty's face, my heart breaks.
It is nice to see Cheney standing next to her, now.
Wasn't he also at the Reagan funeral??
He looks so familiar..
I'm so impressed with this evening ceremony. Has there been
another Presidential funeral in our lifetime at night? I know there have been viewings, but I don't recall an evening funeral.
You apply and then have to be chosen....a lot of requirements have to be met...
what a strong woman..
Ditto -- my very same thought.
Guess not. I heard that the Bush's were not going to cut their vacation short, and that the President was going to use the time to work on his speech for the service on Tuesday.
Don't humor the disruptor please.
Not that I recall. Most are in the daytime. I much prefer the night.
In this case Cheney is the right person in the right place. I really love that man... and my heart breaks for Betty, to reach this age and live so many years with the same man is something few will ever understand.
Me, too! Carter doesn't hold a candle to other Presidents of our lifetime .. he's a downright divisive, anti-American hick.
For some reason I remember one of Eisenhower's processions taking place in the evening.
Don't really understand your question re a military funeral...but the dress uniform or class A's is usually used.
That prove lots of me to Jimmy Carter what SOB he is bitter old mannnn back in 1981
Come think of it I be bitter old person if I got my a*** kick by Warner Bros actor
I was really depressed when Ford lost to Carter. That was one of the easiest choices for me to make, unlike a couple of other elections. That was one election where in hindsight the electorate did not elect the best man. I suspect there is wide agreement on that now, an agreement that crosses party lines and ideology. Ford may not have been one of the more articulate presidents, but he was one of the most "centered" and sane, and honest. I salute him. May he rest in peace.
What a lovely rendition of "God Bless America"....
making me weep..
Okay..if he is only 19...he wouldn't have been at the Reagan funeral.
All of them represent our country so well...nothing makes me more proud than our military.
(not counting my family)
Hildy got a timeout.
