Well, what your saying is: Obama's got a good chance 'cause he's getting attention. And if this, and this alone, is what determines our leadership, may I make a prediction? We're screwed.

Look at Ike! After WW II, BOTH major parties wooed him and wanted him to run on their ticket. He went GOP and won. And NO, that was an election that WAS won on charisma and media and BIG backing and BIG money. Of course, it helped that his opponent was Stevenson, whose speeches "sounded good" to many an "intellectual" or intellectual "wannabe", but IF one reads them, they are just DREADFUL!
"Leadership"? JFK couldn't lead his own way out of a wet brown bag! But Nixon was not only ill, during the televised debate, he refused to wear makeup. Everyone hearing Nixon on the radio, said that he had won hands down! Those who watched the debate, claimed that JFK had won; based on LOOKS.
