BTW, even though I never used the word "sympathy" or commented on its definition, my Webster's unabridged lists "sympathy" as a synonym for "empathy".

Now you're just wasting time. Did you even read what I just said. I'll list it again seeming that you are having trouble.

Apparently, Websters says that they can be synonymous. What part of that don't you get?

I got what Webster's didn't; that they are not synonomous. One does not mean or even sort of mean the other. Try reading the one I sent you again. Notice carefully where it says that empathy is NOT to be confused with sympathy. Sorry, wrong again.
