Just like with politicians...they can SAY they are one thing, until it comes time to vote, or take a stance...then it changes.

I posted earlier that I had a dream...that in the upcoming SOTU, President Bush would address those who said in 1998 that Saddam was the biggest baddest mofo in the world (right around the time of BJ's impeachment proceedings) and diplomatically say that their observations from the time have not come to fruition with the execution of Saddam.

Those here (and at DU) would understand immediately, and those who are pedestrian followers of politics (like I used to be) would wonder why the President is giving such high praise to the same people who now call him a liar and a war criminal for saying...the exact same things that THEY said.

Alas, it was only a dream...but oh my goodness, what I wouldn't give to hear him do that, and to see the look on Bela Pelosi's face - the only time I would watch the SOTU for the next 2-3 years.
