And they may be successful. There is some sort of clemency clause in the re-instated Iraqi death penalty, which was immediately post CPA administration. Hence the "paperwork" issues. The mediots are not versed in the Iraqi legal system.
If...and I say again IF Saddam manages to finagle his way out of the hangman's noose and go free/escape, here's what I think we should do:
A) Pull all our troops out of Baghdad, along with all civilian contractors.
B) Re-deploy those troops to completely take over all Iraqi oil production, all of it run BY Americans and for American use.
C) Send over a flight of Trident II's from any available Ohio-class sub and blow the living shiite out of every major Iraqi city.
If THEY don't want justice, fine. WE DO.
