Like a dutiful dancing partner, Senator Barack Obama has begun courting the evangelical right, and some are already waltzing along in perfect time.
With his attendance at Rick Warrens church, Saddleback Valley Community, a mega-church in California for a large conference about AIDS, Obama has begun to align himself with an important base of voters to gain what conservatives lost this last year. Already lauded by some prominent evangelical publications for his outstanding "Christian faith" and a person Rick Warren called a "good friend" and a someone he'd like to work with on important issues, Obama is in perfect position, if he can keep the momentum, to use an unusual strategy for political gain.
Obama has become well-known not only for his charisma and sudden rise to fame in the last few months, but for his outspoken Christian faith to which he refers regularly.

Black supporters of Obama will still endorse Hillary. Expect future news stories about how Rudy's policies "tortured" blacks in NYC.
The way a President fights abortion is to appoint judges who uphold the rights of the unborn.
"They know damn good and well that Hillary is unelectable. They're trying to game the system so that Obama wins the Rat nomination",
I'm not so sure about that. I think the left is having doubts about Hillary and is hoping Obama jumps into the race as an alternative. Whoever wins the nomination will have earned it by going through the political meat grinder (debates, media scrutiny, etc.). Hillary included.
Obama reminds me of those priests who preach one way in front of the congregation but privatly believe another way.
IE a priest who says women should be priests in private or is pro-homo or even an atheist in private.
He is simply developing his brand so people SEE what they want and not the actual person.
Does the GOP even want the votes of coservative Christians? Hang around FR and hear about the "war on science" and the dismay of the frilly libertarians that they have to share the political pie with the Baptists...

Sorry. That's the lazy man's way of pushing an agenda. First, there are no guarantees that the president will get a chance to appoint any Supreme Court Justices. Since Roe v. Wade will have to be overturned at that level lower court judges don't matter.
Second, there is no way to guarantee which way a judge will vote. You can look at his record but it's not going mean anything when the case is put before his bench.
I still say if a candidate comes out with the platform to aggressively ban abortion he has no chance.
If Senator Barack Obama, the media or anyone else thinks that I, my family or friends support him, they are NUTS!
Obama, Hitlery, Gore and Kerry are dead in the water from the start. One of them may someday get enough votes to win but none of the votes will be from my family or anyone I have any influence with.
Yep, Obama is known for his Christian faith alright. He is great at calling everyone who disagrees with him a hypocrite or racist. That is not what I would call a real Christian.
You don't know anything about real Evangelicals. They would never vote for a Democrat of any color.
In all fairness, I do NOT think that R. Warren is NOT pro-life.
I was shocked to see Fox News provide airtime to Warren.....his recent embracing of Obama and claims of leadership don't impress this Christian. I may have bought his book, but I haven't bought his latest drivel.
That is because most on this thread convict first and try second. The hatred for Warren is just short of incredible and the reasons for it are all bogus--envy is the basis for most but not all these statements.

Exactly. That's where the rulings originated and that's where they need to be defeated, and in this regard Bush has earned his keep.
Your statement lacks any kind of empirical foundation. Your judgment is your own and you own it not Pastor Warren.
=======
Not all bogus. He has hitched his wagon to 2 major league POS and in doing so brought it on himself.
1 Corinthians 15:33
Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character."
I only question it since he seems to enamored of Obama who is definitely not pro-life. Seems the world is really turning upside down.
Played it over and over Christmas weekend; Christmas Day some friends asked me what was up with that, they are devout Christians and were very offended at Fox giving so much time to someone like Warren. They read Warren's book are are not as impressed as many by it, either.
Obama is the ONLY other candidate they can come up with?? Good grief the pickins' are slim!
However, I can't envision our pastor inviting him to our church and I don't think he should have been invited to Warren's church. It gives the guy legitimacy.
