Like a dutiful dancing partner, Senator Barack Obama has begun courting the evangelical right, and some are already waltzing along in perfect time.
With his attendance at Rick Warrens church, Saddleback Valley Community, a mega-church in California for a large conference about AIDS, Obama has begun to align himself with an important base of voters to gain what conservatives lost this last year. Already lauded by some prominent evangelical publications for his outstanding "Christian faith" and a person Rick Warren called a "good friend" and a someone he'd like to work with on important issues, Obama is in perfect position, if he can keep the momentum, to use an unusual strategy for political gain.
Obama has become well-known not only for his charisma and sudden rise to fame in the last few months, but for his outspoken Christian faith to which he refers regularly.

Just because some are fooled doesn't mean all are fooled. The Dems don't need all to win .. just some

The Liberal definition of an evangelical does not match the self view of most conservative evangelical christians.
Hillary is trying the same thing and the guy she has advising her is a wacko...not even close to evangelical.

Rudy is such a uber-RINO that Obama could run to Rudy's right.

I didn't say anything about evangelicals. I don't care about that. I just want to know who's working his campaign, their history and background.

Obama is a member of the United Church of Christ. One of the most liberal theologically of the protestant denominations in America. I do believe they recognize ordained gay people and don't know what if any position they have on marrying gay folks.I think Obama is a classic wolf in sheeps clothing and he should be scrutinized!

Is he a man of true faith? Does he believe in Jesus Christ? I don't know what is in the man's heart. I know his voting record on supporting abortion rights is 100%, which seems to contradict with what many of the evangelical & christian faith.

Put up a pro-abort with a pro-lifer, the pro-lifer's going to win.... Maybe with Evangelists but not in a national election. Someone who is ardently anti-abortion will never be president.

These people are dreaming. Only leftist liberal "evangelicals" would support this abortionist.

In year 1, he established a PAC to fundraise for Dem candidates for the 2006 Midterms. The PAC contributed 374,000 dollars to Dem candidates. He attended 38 fundraising events.
That's one way to get REALLY popular among your party fast.

I think we learned from the last election that we have very stupid voters in America.
To: MizSterious
I believe it may be too late. A supposedly religious friend of the family told my wife that Jesus would be a democrat. My atheist in-laws believe they are against the religious right. The dems have both sides of the issues. Our country is falling away from the one True God, we do get what we deserve.
