Once this gets out, it will be interesting to watch his polling numbers.... they will either plummet or they will soar, I want to see which way they go (my hope is down).

Oh, I get it... do it now, ASAP, so it will be forgotten in November 2008.

No one ran against him in the GOP... and we never saw or heard from the competition.... if he'd had the competition that went up against Kyl this past November, he might be toast right now. Heck, he didn't even campaign; actually said he didn't need to since he had no competition.

All I can think is they look at Mexico, with one of the highest number of millionaires per capata and think:

"ahhhh we, too, can have cheap housekeepers, lawn and pool boys, chauffers, etc... of course, we'll have to live in gated communities to keep the crime out, but as long as I have mine, who cares..."

Peter King is a tough SOB (he's my congressman), and he is the last republican congressman on long island - the demographic shift in this district don't lend itself to his hardline position here - I think he is just fed up.

Peter King is my congressman. I wonder what he thinks as he finds himself surrounded by an expanding field of idiot Republicans?

South Carolina needs to be careful. It's far enough ahead of the primary that McCain could turn out a lot of liberals and get them to register as republicans so they can vote in the primary. He's done that before, he's quite capable of doing it in South Carolina.

Ever heard of globalism? Hold hands, sing kumbaya, share in each other's misery and sell your country to the lowest bidder.

LOL, yeah and he still only got 70% of the vote. Think about that, 30% of Arizona voters refused to cast their vote for him even though he had no competition. I was one of them.

Why can't the tax paying Citizens of the United States vote on this matter?.Let us decide if we want to let the illeglas become citizens. Why don't we have any say in it?

It is amazing when placed in that context and we certainly sent him a message with prop 200, one he chooses to ignore and I'd think was an embarassment to him given how he campaigned against it.

"All W needs is the balls to veto the bill if it passes."

Don't hold your breath. Bush already acknowledged after the Nov. 7 election that a compromise on immigration will be easier with the Democrats running congress. This is what he wants, and the issue is poisoning his presidency.

I heard about this on the news. Kennedy thinks the 06 election was a mandate on a liberal illegal immigration bill. The press is spinning that immigration was the reason J.D Hayworth and other anti-amnesty hard liners lost. I believe that to be B.S. If Republicans allow this to happen...and no doubt there will be several like McPane-in-the-ass...then, that is it as far as I'm concerned. They can kiss my vote goodbye. They will have proven themselves unworthy of holding public office. These Democrats and RINOs are a national tragedy.

"It does not matter what party they belong to, the GOP lies about it "

Like Gov Rick Perry in Texas who did an about face on immigration issues the week after he won. He's pathetic and needs to be run out of office for being such a blatent liar.

He sent Tony Snow out the day after the election to say all was not lost because "now we can get comprehensive immigration reform passed." The people who didn't vote or voted L/C handed #43 the means to do what he's pledged to do back in 2000.
