I wonder if the author has actually been to Israel lately. A good friend of mine is a Russian Jew, and he swears the best pork chops he's ever had were in Tel Aviv. The secular wave is NOT confined to Europe or the US - it is pervasive in Israel as well.

The secular wave is NOT confined to Europe or the US - it is pervasive in Israel as well.It was both sad and funny, but one day some years ago I overheard a fellow in a restaurant ask: "I this (referring to some pork chops) kosher?"
