Yep, biggest blunder of the year was those who believed that average Republican supporters would continue walking behind blindly as Republican leaders marched off the proverbial cliff." Very true. Republicans missed a lot of opportunities in the last six years. Spending was out of control, oversight was lax, nothing was done about the borders and the base was poked in the eye many times. The party was arrogant enough to believe that they could continue to win not by pointing to a stellar record but to pointing to the Dems and saying that "the other guys are worse." Are they worse? I would add some more to that, but that is pretty much the jist of it. Thats what precisely Rove and the leadership thought - they would just try to point to the democrats and say "the other guys are worse". What a bad, bad, strategy.

and we're not takin' pork...some in the GOP got very fat...b/c we didn't keep their feet to the fire :/
