I know this isn't the politically correct thing to say, but I think maybe someone needs to point out just how obese the children in those pictures are.
Overwhelmingly, the problem that the "poor" face in this country is NOT malnutrition [starvation], but rather obesity and obesity-induced illnesses, like diabetes, joint [ankle/knee/hip/lumbar] failure, coronary/cerebral/extremity circulatory failure, asthma, etc etc etc.
Stuffing even more food in the mouths of these "poor" fat kids is like handing them crack cocaine.
