Jews are a conspicuously successful minority in almost every country where they are allowed freedom. Envy is the first recourse of the small minded. (Academia is a haven for the petty and small minded.)
Hatred says far more about the hater than the hated.
This doesn't tell us why the hatred continues when Jews are forced into ghettos or servitude and lose that success.
The bible at least suggests an answer to that question. The Jews are destined to be placed by God in world domination in the future (through supernatural event, not through conspiracy) and the devil is constantly enraged at that.
