The LaCrosse team had been in trouble before with their rowdy parties in Durham. Before the alleged assault, the coach had been warned by Duke administrators to get better control of his team. He resigned because he was perceived as not having a good handle on his team's behavior. Even liberal Durham citizen's often complained of the rowdy parties in their neighborhoods. For some reason, the cream of the crop Duke student body loves to party.
