A Republican congressman has told constituents that unless immigration is tightened, "many more Muslims" will be elected and follow the lead of a recently elected lawmaker who plans to use the Quran at his ceremonial swearing-in.
Rep. Virgil Goode, R-Va., made the comments in a letter sent earlier this month to hundreds of constituents who had written to him about Rep.-elect Keith Ellison, a Minnesota Democrat and the first Muslim elected to Congress. Goode's letter triggered angry responses from a New Jersey congressman and an Islamic civil rights group.
In the letter, Goode wrote, "The Muslim representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district and if American citizens don't wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Koran."
Goode said the U.S. needs to stop illegal immigration "totally" and reduce legal immigration.
Goode added: "I fear that in the next century we will have many more Muslims in the United States if we do not adopt the strict immigration policies that I believe are necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to the United States of America and to prevent our resources from being swamped."
Meanwhile, Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., D-N.J., wrote to Goode on Wednesday saying that he was "greatly disappointed and in fact startled" by Goode's letter.
"I take your remarks as personally offensive to the large community of Muslim-Americans I represent in the Eighth District of New Jersey," Pascrell wrote.

who would have thought the Political correctness taught in the 60's would come back to haunt us so badly.
I have a Muslim co-worker that I consider a work friend, but I'm literally afraid to talk to him about anything related to Religion. I have only known him for a few years, he's not American but is very thoughtful and we talk a lot about business and sports.
I agree with you. I've seen ballots in the past with the Nazi and Communist represented. It's almost unthinkable that anyone running openly for either party would be elected to office here. I guess you have to rack up a body count in the millions not to get elected in America. I guess 9/11 was not deadly enough for America, or at least Minnesota, to elect a muslim. If any woman who voted for that muslim there gets beaten, raped, or gets dead by an "honor killing", (at the hand of muslims) she is 100% to blame. If a man who voted for him gets beheaded for blaspheming allah or mohammed, he had it coming. They do not even deserve the protection of US law from the actions of their own kind.
"Did anyone see the tape of Ellison's victory party and all of the animals there saying "Allah Akbar" just like the same kind of animals did on 9-11."
No, for real?
It's about damn time the United Staes od America banned any and all expressions of Islam.
Amen bro !
90% of MN-5 is Arab and/or Muslim? Since Congressional districts have approximately 600,000 residents, that would mean that there were 540,000 Arabs and/or Muslims in Minneapolis and its suburbs -- and yet we've heard almost nothing of this threat from the clear-eyed patriots of the Nuke Mecca Crowd.
Seriously, if Brit Hume is really the source of this, we have no reason to trust Brit Hume ever again.
Morning Zim, yeah, I'm pretty certain that's what Brit's report said. He had a full segment on this Muzzie convert. I'll admit I had only ONE ear open and listening to the report , so there is a chance of error on my part, BUT...we've heard other stories about the Muzzies in MInney driving taxi's and refusing to pick up people with booze in their luggage...
it would be more likely that 90% of the muslims in the district voted for him. muslims do not make up 90% of that district. i used to live in mn-2, so i would know.
still, this does not vindicate brit hume. he may have said that which would be the last straw for me.
ok, I see what you mean...
Thanks. Sad, very sad.
