I fail to see the huge crime here. There are a lot worse scum in New York politics such as Sheldon Silver and Charles Barron

The huge crime is that as State Comptroller, Hevesi is responsible for overseeing fiscal matters in the state that range from the pension fund to state contracts to how municipalities spend their money. For him to do things he knew were wrong, things that he and his office have pounded others for, is disgraceful, hypocritical, along with being illegal.

That doesn't mean Silver, Barron and Bruno aren't bigger crooks. It just means that they don't have the same inside enemies as Hevesi, though Bruno seems to have some problems at the moment.
