B.S.
A pit will NOT "go off" for any reason. Pits are not by nature human-aggressive.
what are you smokin'? as a mother of four, i am weary of those of you lunatics (and I mean this literally) who still defend the pit bull breeds (i know there are many which are considered a pit). Are you just stupid, or function illogically? Are you parents? Do you have a brain? I don't get it. Truly. 1 + 1 = 2. Period.
And if you chose NOT to believe pits are a deadly weapon, than why wouldn't you at least accept responsibility for owning a dangerous animal, and make sure it is muzzled and chained up 100% of the time? Do you hate society and the innocent so much that you think your right to own an animal is above our right to not be mauled by your evil pet?
There is no additional education of the public or dog owners necessary to make pit bull ownership a felony crime. That is the why it should be nationwide. Pit bull owners are THE MOST OBNOXIOUS people i have ever met. Anytime i'm out in public with my kids, I have to deal with their irresponsible and outrageous attitudes and behavior.
Our neighborhood public school went on a lock down for one hour recently due to a huge pitbill running lose on campus.
hhhmm....wonder if they would have done the same thing for a poodle...or a border collie...or EVEN a German Shepherd???
nope....and neither do you...
I'll bet all the people in the threads we've read about who were mauled or killed by one will be glad to hear that.
Gee, tell that to a friend of mine. Just recently he was helping out his neighbor by changing her license plate and her pit, got out of the house and attacked him while he was bent down behind the car, over 300 stitches. The dog tore him up, from his arms down his legs. She had the dog since puppyhood, he was very familiar with the dog as were his kids. He's thankful that when the dog freaked it got him instead of any of the kids in the neighborhood.
The name Pit Bull omes rfom the fact that they were specifically bred for pit fighting. It breeding, not just training, that makes them dangerous.
I understand that neither pit bulls nor their owners are the brightest of their species'.
Let me just call up the family of the old woman they killed down here in Virginia and tell them that.
I notice that pit bull owners are always defending pit bulls. But there sure have been a lot of ugly stories about them. Grandchildren killed by them. Owners killed by them. You never hear about black labradors doing that. But where I live, you hear about a pit bull killing or maiming someone in our city about four times a year. I'm not talking about dog bites, I'm talking about serious, permanent damage or death.
