It is silly to plot where libertarans are on a single axis chart. If Dems are left on the X axis and Reps are right, libertarians are up on the y axis and statists are down.

That said, it becomes clear that the guiding philosophies can overlap as you move out on the diagonals. Free-love lefties vs commie lefties vs rugged individualist capitalist righties vs blue law prohibitionist righties.

Seriously, your post makes the debate more concise, IMO.

I consider myself a libertarian and what I want is, less government control and interference in my life. I really don't give a damn what someone else chooses to do with their life.

If your actions harm no one else and you don't expect someone else to foot the bill, for either your actions or the consequences. Go for it.

That's true. However, thinking in two dimensions is way too difficult for some people, who are only able to apprehend their world in boolean terms: "My Way" v. "Highway".
