Are we glad the democrats control Congress now?
Was there a thread about the find of several hundred pounds of enriched uranium in Germany, totally unguarded for years, that was discovered and shipped back to Russia? That would have been serious if the terrorists had come across it (deliberate understatement for ironic purposes.)

Haven't seen a mention of this. Heard it on radio this morning. There must be an article about it, but maybe not, it being a highly radioactive story.

Yes, they flew it back this past week to Russia for reprocessing under the watchful of IAEA. And yes, flew it back, like on a plane.
Islam is a hydra - an octopus. That's far more dangerous than Nazi Germany was. German troops wore uniforms. When we got Hitler to commit suicide, that ended the menace. When we occupied Germany and Japan - that ended it.
None of those parameters apply in this case. In this case there is no one country, no one person to overcome.
Islam is not a one time aberation that Nazism was - Islamic fanaticism/militarism is a historical fact going back for centuries to its very birth. It will not end with the occupation of a country or two or killing a leader here and there.
Though I don't believe we can stop them for long - we can slow them down. To do that we have to obliterate the head of the octopus where it now resides - which a this time is Iran. Lopping off a tendril (foot or arm) here and there won't do it.
They've taken over Somalia just in the last few days. So what? Well, they now have a training camp base again. They are killing Christians and others all through Africa.
There are over a billion moslems in the world - if only 1% are terrorists - that's a huge number.
We can't run a war of attrition - we lose that. We can only slow them down if we obliterate the head.
But, we won't - you know it and I know it. Our grandchildren may be facing Mecca five times a day because we have lost our will to survive. A society that loses its will to survive - is unwilling to do whatever it takes to survive, according to nature's rules - dies. With eyes wide open.
I don't recall Hitler losing any local elections between 1934 and 1937. In fact, there were no elections. Iran is quite prosperous, unlike Nazi Germany, which was beset by economic depression and stagflation. So the analogy doesn't quite fit. Also Iran's army is pathetic compared to Hitler's. And their infrustructure is quite vulerable. Israel can bring Iran to its knees, if we would only let them.
