I don't want to offend any UCC freepers but isn't this one of the most liberal Christian denomonations out there? I remember going to a Baptism there once and the minister did hold up a piece of bread and say that some thought it was God and some didn't and either was okay, come and take communion or something like that. My reaction was that it either was God or it wasn't and if it was something left open by the minister, then it wasn't. weird.
You are correct. They are darn near Unitarian.
And the story goes on about the UCC
DALLAS, Oct. 29 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Cathedral of Hope, known as the "world's largest gay church," has been accepted into the United Church of Christ (UCC). In a vote taken Saturday, Oct. 28, by the denomination's North Texas Association, the church was overwhelmingly accepted as a member church. A special service of installation, at which the church will officially become a member of the denomination, is being planned.

That was exactly my point but I wasn't going to post the fact that it is ultra liberal at the risk of offending someone.
Not only very liberal as a rule, but the one he attends - Trinity UCC - seems to exist mostly for racial activism, bashes Bush freely while exalting Sharpton and Jackson.
That minister sounds like he could be a member of the United Church of Future Dhimmis. Perhaps he should pack his bags and go to Europe in preparation for his subservient lifestyle.
If I ever go to church again, I will NOT tolerate a minister who does not affirm God.
