One problem with that scenario... Quarterbacks. Peyton Manning will choke again in the AFC Championship (provided they get that far) and he doesn't have any defense whatsoever to help him out and Rex Grossman will be the Bears downfall. If any defense can win a Super Bowl, it is the Bears defense. I just don't think it's going to happen though.
And I beg to disagree with you, the Bears-Colts would be like watching paint dry. The only time it would be worth watching is when the Colts have the ball. Otherwise, the rest of the game you have a horrible offense against a horrible defense. What's so great about that? Bring on the commercials...
IMHO, Peyton Manning is the Joe Montana of today's League. HE has never choked...he hasn't had the right mix of supporting cast. And the Colts STILL don't have a RUN defense as my Jaguars showed against them. Still...I'm convinced that if they get home field advantage, there's no one better in that dome than Peyton. For the Bears, Grossman is ALMOST a disqualifier. But the DEFENSE is so good, the Bears overcome Grossman's stupidity. No one team is perfect at every position. The Chargers' defense is pass deficient as Washington showed...so...it's still "on any given Sunday". I just think the Bears and the Colts are the best in their Conferences, and I think it would be an exciting game--a great offense against a great defense...a sort of muddling defense (Colts) against muddling offense (Bears). I think it would be a very good game...
