All I've done is respond to your challenge ~ it's pretty obvious that the scientists have had a "plan" since long before the drill went in the ground....The problem may simply be the reporting of the project, and the fact that the reporter couldn't convey the status of the project to my satisfaction. Entirely possible....as noted.
