I was not aware of the alternate functions, thanks for that. Still though, would you not rather he be cured?

Of course. I just know enough about pharma that sometimes the road to a cure is paved with the very best intentions. Sometimes a well-inteded chemical fixes one thing and breaks another.

For one thing, the mice given the cure here responded for a period of time, and then the Islet cells re-inflamed in about 4 months. OK, cool, now we know two things - the Islet cells aren't really dead (its not an auto-immune thing), and we still really don't know what's causing the inflammation.

So, like I said, my kid is 3. If he has to wait until he's 7, and the cure is safe, I'm happy.
