Wanted to let you all know what’s going on in Mama’s world these days. Mama has completed her first round of chemo but has elected not to continue with that treatment because it has weakened her considerably. That was the final treatment option available to her, so the choice that has now been made is to let the disease run its course. In the meantime, we are trying to make sure Mama is as comfortable as is possible, and to embrace her with the warmth of our love as much as we can.
Mama is at peace with the decision she and Daddy have made; after all, she knows what will happen to her next, where she will go and Who she will be with once she dies.
Her body is quite weak and she is in quite a bit of pain, but her mind remains strong and her spirit seems, to me, to be considerably stronger and happier than I’ve seen in several weeks. She and Daddy celebrate the joy of life each day.
This weekend, my brother and I have brought our families down to love on Grandma. My brother has brought his new son to show off to Mama, so she has finally gotten to meet both of the new grandchildren. It’s a houseful this weekend, loud and raucous, but I like to think that even though it might be a little wearying for Mama with all this untamed ENERGY around, she’s enjoying all six grandkids and the life and joy that children bring to all of us.
If you would, keep Mama in your prayers. If nothing else, please pray that God will comfort her and ease her pain. Emotionally, I think she’s doing pretty OK. But physically, she has a good bit of pain, and I would appreciate your continued prayers for her, and particularly that her pain be relieved.
Mama doesn’t get to the computer much any more, so I don’t know that she will be able to reply to each of you, but she wanted me to share an update of her situation with you. If someone would please copy this post to ATRW for me, I’d be much obliged. If you would like to send Mama a card, please message me privately, and I will let you know how to get in touch with Mama via snail mail.
Love to all of you, from Mama and from me.
Sorry, Mama, meant to ping you on that update. :)
Thank you, Sweetie..............freepmail.............
Logan’s Prayer Warriors, an update on kayak in #1024.
Please PLEASE continue your prayers...
Prayers for your dear mother and family.
thank you for the update Poppyseed. Please know that we here all pray for your family for peace - for comfort & for relief from Pain for mom...
The saga of life is full of much joy but full also of much pain with the changes that occur in time. I know this is difficult for all of you & please keep us posted & give mom a cyber hug from me..
Prayers up!
May the Lord be present with your family, and may your mom be filled with the Love of Jesus.
Will your mama be able to have hospice care? They control the pain and are sooooooooo good in helping the patient and the family transition once the patient is ready to depart our earthly world. Hospice helped two people we knew well. It’s miraculous what they do for everyone involved. God bless your beloved mother. Can understand her reluctance to continue chemo...she knows it’s better to have the quality time with her family than to hang on with the side effects of chemo. Happy Easter to you all...God bless you all and peaceful, calm journey for your dear mom.
Prayers continue for dear kayak and her family.
Please send her our love and I will pray poppyseed,Fatima
Prayers continue for your mom.
And: Here’s hoping your entire family has a blessed Easter together.
1. God sent His Son - they called Him Jesus,
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.
Chorus:
Because He lives I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives.
2. How sweet to hold a newborn baby
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because Christ lives.
(Chorus)
3. And then one day I’ll cross the river,
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory - and I’ll know He lives.
(Chorus)
Continuing with your FReeper family in prayer, poppyseed. May this Resurrection Morn bless the hearts of your beloved Mama and Daddy with the joy that awaits, for “Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age.”
Blessed be His Name, now and forevermore, Amen ...
