Yeah, I had a bible study teacher who reacted the same way. Question HER interpretation and you were smacked down as not knowing what you were talking about.
I find a lot of Evangelicals are this way.
I find a lot of Catholics are this way.
It's one reason I no longer apply the "evangelical" label to myself. It used to be that "evangelical" meant belief in the authority and reliability of the Bible, mission and evangelistic outreach, a focus on Christ.
Hmmmm....do you not at least mean you find a lot of people that way? Heck ANYone can be this way. Whay the emphasis on just "evangelicals?"
What is an "evangelical"?
I'm serious. I constantly read and hear people using that noun, and I am always confused as to what they mean.
>A lot of Evangelicals are this way.<
IMHO, not all Evangelicals are on the same level at the same time. It is reasonable to say that one grows with the Lord as time goes on. Sadly, some just don't. We are so fortunate to have been given the Bible.
I had this "teacher" and I told the class one night about reading something in the Torah. Later she accosted me and said "I don't know what this Torah is you are mentioning but it has no place in our study of Genesis." It was hilarious.
