Muslim pilgrims urged to complain (Six imams)
The Washington Times ^ | December 13, 2006 | Audrey Hudson

American Muslims making a religious pilgrimage to Mecca are being encouraged to file civil rights complaints if they feel discriminated against by airlines. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), citing what it called the "airport profiling" of six imams removed from a recent flight, yesterday said Muslims traveling this month to the holy site in Saudi Arabia need to be aware of their rights. "Given the increase in the number of complaints CAIR has received alleging airport profiling of American Muslims, we believe it is important that all those taking part in this year's hajj be aware of their legal and civil rights," said Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR spokesman. The group has established a toll-free hot line for victims of "flying while Muslim," as Muslims have begun departing for the weeklong hajj, a once-in-a-lifetime obligation to visit the holy city of Mecca, which this year begins Dec. 29. But M. Zuhdi Jasser, a Phoenix physician and chairman of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD), said the announcement by CAIR "continues the tired stoking of the flames of victimization." "They are unfortunately exploiting, for purely political reasons, what should be a sacred and purely spiritual story of our faith's annual holy pilgrimage to Mecca," Dr. Jasser said.... CAIR is representing the six imams removed from a US Airways flight last month and has asked for a meeting with the airline to seek an out-of-court settlement. ... Debra Burlingame, whose brother was the pilot of American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon on September 11, thinks this is a ploy to extort money from the airlines. A guide issued by CAIR advises Muslims...

Send them to Mecca and let them stay.

Goodness, everytime I fly I feel like I am discrimianted against. Nasty gate area, seats too small, idiots who need to recline their seat backs into my knees at warp speed, flatulent or gabby folks in the next seat, mechanical delays, weather holds, late flights, crappy food, cramps bathrooms, surley air waitresses, and barf bags there were used by the previous flyer left in the seat pouch. Do I have to me a muzzy top call? /snide

I wonder how I would be treated if I took out a Bible or a cross and sat on the floor or a plane and prayed, before the flight? I would not have blamed anyone if I had been treated the same way...

Maybe we should all get an area rug, carry it to the airport to see what happens.

Bravo for Dr. Jasser! The Muslim community in this country would do better to listen to him and reject the despicable CAIR.

The only way this is going to come to a screeching halt is if the remaining passengers, crew and airline companies get together and file class action lawsuits, or something similar, against the radical Muslims. They and the lawyers will own us if we don't act NOW.

It seems to me that there is a very simple solution here. You assign an equal amount of focus on one's RESPONSIBILITIES when flying, as you do to one's rights.

If one fails to act and behave responsibly when flying, you give up your rights.

End of conversation.

So complain, Mr. Muhammad.....I don't care. That's part of this fine country....the right to complain.....to whine....and to STFU.

I, on the other hand, will be a customer of any business they whine about.

And, of course, it is a total mystery to them why anybody would want to discriminate against a bunch of Muslim fanatics eager to get on airplanes…

ask for the names and ID numbers of all persons involved

Let me get this straight. If a Muslim or CAIR representative asks me to identify myself I should comply, and maybe even spell it out so they can write it down correctly? I've got news for you, CAIR. I have no obligation or intention to identify myself to you, even if you are a Muslim and I am merely a lowly infidel.

The left doesn't care about responsibilities. Actions have no consequences on the left. Ask Rodney King. As OJ.

These people are just following another group's example that was effective. Act badly and then blame everybody else when you get treated as you deserve. The media eats it up as does the left.

Since this began I have been saying we should all carry Rosaries or a Crucifix or a Cross, some symbol of OUR religion, and when they start up, wave our symbols around in the air and chant "Get thee behind me Satan," and finish it off with a hearty cheer of "Let's roll!" And we must continue to be vigilant and report ANYTHING that seems suspicious.

The number of Muslims who agree with this guy are infintesimal.

And I wonder what he thinks about Sharia law and murdering Mulims who convert to another faith or those who help convert them?

Does he oppose the discrimination practised by the Saudi Sheikdom against non-Muslims or their anti-Semitic and anti-Christian school books?

I dooubt it.

Poor victimized Muslims! In respect for their concerns, I suggest we adapt a special protocol for muslims flying on the hajj.

First of all, there should be no departures of any American-flag airlines to Saudi Arabia during the period of the hajj, out of respect to Islam.

Secondly, only airlines licensed out of Saudi Arabia should be allowed to carry passengers to the hajj. These planes would arrive from the middle east to pick up their passengers, and upon departure, the planes escorted by fighter jets until they leave US airspace.

Lastly, all these new security measures put in place in the wake of 9/11 should be discontinued to these flights.

The one rule we must all understand, is that Islam is a religion of psychopaths, who, if left with no one else to kill, will kill other muslims without a second thought. Hopefully, some nutty Shiites will hijack the plane and plow it into that big black square thing in Mecca that these moon-worshippers gather around during the hajj, just to show those Saudi Wahhabist Sunnis that the SHIAS rule Islam, not them.

Too bad no one will sue the imans on behalf of the other passengers who were subjected to their frightening behavior.

By the way, isn't it time for our annual "Guess how many Muslims will be trampled to death in Mecca during the Hajj" pool?
