Pounds, shillings, bobs, crowns, half crowns, sovereigns, hapennies, guineas, tuppence....arrgghhh... I never could make heads nor tails of English currency until they decimalized it. At least now you know there are 100p in a pound and you don't have to know what a shilling represents.

You put your plastic card in the machine and it pumps out pounds. (Don't look at the receipt.) They spend pretty much like dollars and you don't find out how badly you've been screwed until you check your bank statement when you get back to the States.
