What we as smoking, tax paying citizens of Texas are forgetting is that there is a process in which we can call for a recall of a bill ,such as this on,and request that it be put to a vote. Currently I am forming a petition to do just that. This bill was pushed down our throats, with little notice and is discriminatory in that it targets only one section of tabacco products. We can as citizens demand a recall of this bill or as they did in California recall the Governor.
The more logical means of generating revenue for decreasing property taxes would be to cut out the general fund that is generated by the lottery and apply these funds toward the reduction of property taxes. By the way Govenor Perry, we are still waitnig for the $1,500 checks you claimed to have given us in your campaign ads.
