The fact that you spoke up against the GOP (A.K.A. the same party that HADN'T attempted to pass this law in the years it held power), made you the Democrats "useful idiot" and helped to turn undecided or marginal voters against the Party that you yourself voted for!
If undecided or swing voters, perceive that the party's own self-described "base" thinks that the party sucks, why would they vote for it!
The idea (linked above) is to NOT ALLOW the Democrats to take power BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!!!!

Damn straight I spoke up against the GOP. I think for myself. As do the vast majority of conservative FReepers. Conservatives are opposed to big government Republicanism. That includes liberal immigration reform.
