Congress Open to Passing Bill on Immigration (Citizenship for 20 million illegals!)
The Washington Times ^ | December 4, 2006 | Charles Hurt

Congress will approve an immigration bill that will grant citizenship rights to most of the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens in the U.S. after Democrats take control next month, predict both sides on Capitol Hill. While Republicans have been largely splintered on the issue of immigration reform, Democrats have been fairly unified behind the principle that the illegals currently in the country should get citizenship rights without having to first leave the country.

P.S. Illegal aliens dump as much as $7 billion a year into the Federal coffers in the way untraceable SS payments.

And within 10 years, they will demand those bucks back while still taking BILLIONS more than they contribute in other means.

Americans Lose $68 Billion to Illegals in 2002 or $136 billion with other factors

I know that Australia has a lot of gun laws and such nonsense but how is New Zealand politically? Anybody got any suggestions as to countries that still have vitality and respect for the individual? Warm weather a plus.

The difference is two white guys COULD discuss the Constitutional merits of the law more or less objectively. That is,WE have never had to experience going to a restaurant and being told "we only serve white folks from the back door"
For a black person, its very personal as well as very painful.

Not really focusing on your friend's status.None of my biz, really.
I work with quite a few"immigrant"kids while subbing in the schools here. Many of them are almost certainly not legal.
Yet the LAST thing one would do in a classroom is imply that a kid was illegal.
Doo doo would hit the proverbial fan faster than you could shake a stick at.

Tell me that when you're back in that cesspool of a country in a couple of years. We've kicked your butt every time we have had conflict and this won't be any different.

After we are done kicking your butt we'll take Baja as restitution this time. Enjoy it while it lasts and start packing your bags.

Yes it is .. and saying to them that the Civil Rights Act of 64 "exceeded its jurisdiction" really isn't a good nor a smart way of discussing any issues

I have lots of blacks friends .. we had a number of discussion .. some heated, some not .. and I sure as heck would never make a comment like that to them

All we have to do is look at what is happening in lovely multicultural France to see where this might be headed.

No more Americans or American ideals, just a bunch of ethnic etc interest groups fighting over their share of the taxpayer dollar.

We need to fight this to the bitter end.

But, will the compasionate conservative in the whitehouse veto the bill?

If that passionate conservative doesn't veto an amnesty bill, he will have single handedly destroyed the Republican party! It will be interesting to watch what he does.....

"We need to fight this to the bitter end."

Where does one begin? My 2 Senators, Voinabitch and Brown, both advocate amnesty. The only one who doesn't close by is my state Rep. I think I'll join the Minutemen when I'm not busy being a crazy evangelical whacko. Where are the real men to lead this country?

The Senate is a lost cause, as long as Senatorial scum like McCain and Kennedy are around to undermine the nation.

The House is the last bastion of hope for a peaceful resolution.

Tell your House Rep to join the Immigration Reform Caucus, if he/she hasn't already. Then we'll see if the Blue Dog Dems keep their campaign promises about immigration.

Jokes on them. My friends who voted Rat did so because they thought the GOP was soft on illegal immigration.

I don't know why you are so sure he will sign it.

Because it's easier than thinking. If the Dems really push this through (which they won't), Bush will most likely veto it. On a strictly political plane, it'd be a ready-made election issue for 2008. More to the point, though, you're right: he has been pretty clear that he wouldn't accept what's being reported here.

This would never have made it out of committee if the House and Senate had remained Republican. Oh well.

"Illegal aliens dump as much as $7 billion a year into the Federal coffers in the way untraceable SS payments." Seeing as you have about as much credibility as a screen door on a submarine

Quite frankly, I am stunned that you don't know the answer to that question yourself, being such a border expert and all.

Now, they will be legally able to vote.

That is the least of our worries.
