Congress will approve an immigration bill that will grant citizenship rights to most of the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens in the U.S. after Democrats take control next month, predict both sides on Capitol Hill. While Republicans have been largely splintered on the issue of immigration reform, Democrats have been fairly unified behind the principle that the illegals currently in the country should get citizenship rights without having to first leave the country.

...but who's counting, right?
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Back where they came from. Native born, give me a break, what's this mean, anchor babies? Anchor babies are not citizens, and the sooner someone starts interpreting Article 14 correctly, the better.
I think he was referring to the 100% 'Murricans who are on welfare.
Are you making the argument that there are no native-born welfare recipients that are NOT immigrants or anchor babies?
Deported alien parents take their US-born children with them to foreign countries all the time.
Be careful, according to taxed2death, 100 out of every 20 people out there is an illegal alien.
Clinton's immigration bill took away (nearly) all Federal welfare aid from illegal aliens.
Sadly, it did very little to take natural-born citizens off the government teat.
P.S. Illegal aliens dump as much as $7 billion a year into the Federal coffers in the way untraceable SS payments.

I guess my going to the dentist was a waste of time. Didn't fix my neighbor's teeth.
Crime, chaos, failed schools, closed hospitals, degenerating language, culture, national unity, Democrat victories...and $23 dollars for each of us!
Thanks for cluing me in. Now I support continued massive third world immigration and toleration of illegals.
Mo,just curious about your Hispanic friend and I ask this question because I have a couple of Latinos I work with whom I am pretty close to.
Is there a level of discomfort in discussing illegal immigration with them?I find my Hispanic friends often make jokes about the corruption in Mexico and about aliens tunneling over the border.Yet on the other hand they seem very proud to be of Mexican heritage and are generally sympathetic to the"Chicano"cause.I have this feeling I have to walk a careful line with them on the issue because for them the issue is not abstract, its personal.
Its like discussing the Constitutionality of Civil Rights Laws with a black person. To me as a white person,I can make some theoretical argument about how the Federal Government may have exceeded its jurisdiction in 1964.To a black person its like,"F Constitutionality.Do you want me and my family to have to go to the back of the bus again?"
Things get ugly and objective discussion is silenced.
Beats doing useful things.
"We have record of one million four hundred thousand being stopped at the border last year alone..."

From the article:
Our Border Patrol claims it has apprehended or turned back at least 25% of those who try to illegally enter this country.

...again, do the math. Seems like my 6000+ a week figure was actually low.
"P.S. Illegal aliens dump as much as $7 billion a year into the Federal coffers in the way untraceable SS payments."
Big effing deal.
From the article:
"Illegal immigration costs the taxpayers of California which has the highest number of illegal aliens nationwide $10.5 billion a year for education, health care and incarceration, according to a study released yesterday."
http://www.washtimes.com/national/20041206-102115-6766r.htm
The problem with those articles is that the errors are easily spotted by anyone with any kind of a bookkeeping background.
There are no one-sided entries into a ledger, but these articles never bother to calculate the billions (quite likely many, many times the amount of the cost) of dollars saved by California consumers via the reduction in prices brought about by the illegal aliens.
If there were no benefits to their being here, they wouldn't be here.
People get so caught up in the hyperbole and demagoguery behind this issue, that they fail to see the most obvious point of all...coming here benefits both the illegal, and industry, and consequently the consumer.
14 BILLION MEXICANS ENTERED THE COUNTRY ILLEGALLY LAST YEAR!!!!
You posted that tens of thousands (maybe one hundred thousand) got in for every one apprehended.
Can you stick to your own (bad) facts?
