He hired a company that hired illegal aliens, apparently. He didn't hire them directly, as those who hire illegal nannies. This is like saying you have to check the immigration status of the workers next time you go to a restaurant.

Exactly. The story points out the company he hired is in Chelsea and if I recall that's in Massachusetts, and somehow Massachusetts is still a part of the United States.
When will the crackdown begin on companies that hire illegals? (rhetorical question)

Exactly. This is typical BS. My best part was how they diss him for being nice to them. I wonder if Romney ever bought anything from a store who hired illegals? Gasp! The hypocrite! Hahaha - let the conservative ranting begin (just as planned).

Why not? A contractor used by WalMart hired illegals, and it was WM that got into hot water and was on the receiving end of the bad press.

That name should've been a dead giveaway.

Your comparison is totally flawed.
And these illegals worked for him for 8 years.
My sister recently built a house. She made sure that none of the contracters and sub-contracters who worked on the house had illegals working there.
It is possible to obey the law.

check the immigration status of the workers next time you go to a restaurant. That's the first thing I did when I bought a restaurant a few years ago.
The dish washer showed me his Mexican ID. I told him not to come back.
I've felt bad ever since for not going the additional step of turning his criminal invader butt into the INS.

I can forgive him for this. Although I still don't think he's the best the GOP can do for '08.

This is just a hit at Mitt.
Lie you said, he hired a company. It is not up to him to check each employee individually.

Believe me, I was ripped here on FR when my remodelers hired illegals. But what are you supposed to do? Ask for the papers of all employees?

I'm no fan of Romney, but I'm with ya on this one. There is no story here.
