Those formats have those huge avatars that make me crazy on my slow dial-up, so I don't participate much anymore.
Get Firefox, then get the extension "AdBlock Plus" ... Then "Block" most those avatars and slow loading pictures. I do it and can now participate on the Canteen threads here on FR, since I block most all slow loading pictures.
