The article makes my blood boil if it is true. The response posted by the college is wonderful in content. However, both cannot be true. I am inclined to not believe the MSM NEWSPAPER, FOR VERY OBVIOUS NATIONAL REASONS. It seems that Camp is saying Christians must move away from a CRUSADER CHRISTIANITY version of Christianity - which was absolutely IMMORAL AND EVIL. Jesus never taught us to take up the sword to convert people. This has left a terrible impression in the minds of millions in the mid-east as to what a Christian really is. Many of them view it as a warring religion like them (historically) which is inferior in its values and virtues like the hypocritical culture of the church in America today. They also see Christianity as a pawn of American Colonialism.
Few have seen what it really means to know Christ.

They also see Christianity as a pawn of American Colonialism. How come not many see Islam as the religion of the colonialists? For half millenia, Islam conquered 'Christian' lands and converted the population, including those of the second Rome, Constatinople. If we used the argument of 'they colonized us', what Christians did, although they were not nice, could be seen as a reaction of what happenned to their brothers & sisters in the 'Holy Land' which was colonized by the Muslims. They were living in fear for several centuries that their lands, too, would be taken by Muslims. After all, Muslims was close to Vienna already.

This subsequent statement by Camp says much more than anything else in the article. :^)
