Any idea what city, county/parish, or state this is in? Or did Bush not veto this one either?

Why should I have to support usa today by going to their site?

The biggest threat to my sister and me growing up was when my dad would go on a rant because some politician had done or said something stupid. I suggest a ban on politicians.

Can't really imagine why you'd *want* to smoke in a car with kids around...

The insanity of this is that yes, tobacco smoke is bad for you; but so is automobile smoke, diesel smoke, cooking smoke, and any smoke. It is the particulate mater in the air that is harmful, not the source. Ask any Fire Fighter what kills most people in house fires, smoke inhalation.

Ban all smoke if you want to have an impact. This is politics, not science.

Foster parents work for the state and thus must follow the rules set down by the state regarding smoking in the workplace.

Anyone want to ping our favorite FReeper and White House hopeful to this thread?? Mike Huckabee was the architect of the "Clean Air Act" here in Arkansas. Thanks, Mike. You've saved so many lives... /s

1. Make smoking illegal.

2. Send the anti-tobacco zealots monthly bills to make up for the tax revenue.

I think this is the best solution. I think the drug warriors should have to pay for the drug war, as well. Those of us rational enough to see the idiocy of it should not have to pay.

>>texas, surprisingly.<<

I disagree. I find that I have become too conservative for the State where not only is the State Capitol building higher than the U.S. Capitol building, but so are property and sales taxes. Texas Democrats routinely disguise themselves as Republicans so this story is not surprising.
