You are too much. You drop an unsubstantiated " stories I've read" regarding the assassination, tie this to unsubstantiated, " clearly a Chechen hit" and voila you have confabulated a complete resolution absolving your beloved RasPutin.
I don't know if she was shot in the face, the back of the head or the side of the head. Neither do you. Nothing about the style of the assassination proves it was or wasn't a Russian government operation. Maybe they shot her just the way you describe as an attempt to cloud the issue. Russia certainly has a long history of using assassination as a tool of repression and intimidation. Events when taken in totality shows RasPutin is taking Russia back down the road to autocracy and again being an enemy of the United States.

True, it is an unsubstantiated story. That said, the method of blowing the face off during assassination is Chechen. Read Terror at Beslan, by John Giduck, a US Army ex-Special Forces officer. He was able to be on the scene at Beslan, while the Russians were mopping up.
You say, Russia has a long history of using assassination as a tool of repression and intimidation. If you would have said the communists have a long history of using assassination as a tool of repression and intimidation, then I would shake your hand in full agreement. However, your bigotry shows, and that is wrong. Evil is evil, and evildoers always try to absolve themselves of guilt by blaming others.
