Ha...just exactly what do you think would be happening any differently on this issue had we kept majority? NOTHING!! Bush is an OBLer and he is the one spearheading the campaign for CIR. Will it be tougher because because Bush is with the Dims on this issue, yes, but the bipartisan OBL agenda would have moved forward regardless. It is up to us to unite as a party, with or without Bush, and to stop them before this travesty is allowed to move forward.

OBL? CIR? What does Osama Bin Ladin have to do with someone's Circus In Repose?

The key phrase in this article is in the 5th paragraph.

"releasing new regulations"

New regulations translates into more cost for business.

Wouldn't be better for FedGov, the Social Security Administration, and DHS fix their problems/database, instead of pushing it off on the employers.

After all, FedGov is going to have to fix this problem within the next few years. Do it now.

Both the enforcement only bill passed by the House and comprehensive reform bill passed by the Senate rely on the FedGov database to implement a mandatory employee verification system. Even if the new Dem Congress makes changes, it is almost certain, because of public opinion, that employee verification will be in the final legislation.

Instead, what we have, is a policy that republicans put in place to try show that they were serious about enforcement in hopes that it would help them get re-elected.
