I'm not sure I follow. A "full democracy" would enable the tryanny of the MAJORITY, would it not?
That's right. Thanks to the 17th Amendment, our Senate is more subject to popular passion, just like the House. And the electoral college is now mostly just a state-by-state sounding board on which presidential candidate got the most votes in each state. Then there are the referenda, which are sometimes good for us, but how can you expect asinine politicians to get tossed out on their fat asses like they deserve, when you can undo their worst with referenda? And California has so many referenda each election that the voters guide must look like a friggin' phone book! Democracy isn't all it's cracked up to be!
