Iraq, corruption and lack of news ideas lost the election this time. Rahm ran some good candidates and took advantage of it. The majority of voters did not/ do not like the direction the country is headed. It would do the GOP a lot of good to actually listen to the voters! Just read the posts here - even the base thinks they already know everything that needs to be known and no one is suggesting even involving "the people".

Which brings up another point. The GOP base needs to be congenial and civil in their discssions. I imagine a lot of the ugly threads on this site and others - turned people off.
