Tom Trancado was on O'Reilly last night. He was saying Bush wants a North American Union. America,Mexico, and Canada all combined into one? Any truth to that?

Tancredo is talking about a plan by the CFR...Council on Foreign Relations...that wants the USA, Mexico and Canada to be just "North America"....
Having no borders...except around the outside along the oceans...one reason given, that it would be easier for the three countries to defend just the oceanic borders in case of attack...as a "unit" rather than individual countries.
President Bush has been accused of signing a paper putting that into effect during a meeting in Crawford between Vincente Fox, Bush and Martin.

No now that Immigration is turned into a a big bust for them, this "North American Union" is the new hysteria from the Neo Isolationist wack jobs on the way far right. That Tancredo is pushing this utterly absurd nonsense seriously undermines his political credibility. It is the Black Helicopter story and UN Army story of this decade

There's no question that President Bush is a free trader, but the concept of North American Union implies that all laws valid in Canada and Mexico are valid here and vice versa. That has never been part of any proposal I have heard.
