1. I don't believe you could get majority support for even attacking military targets in Iran.

2. When I suggested we should at least be fighting along with Isreal against Hezbollah when Hezbollah was actively shooting missiles into Israeli cities I got the feeling there wasn't even majority support among conservatives, much less Americans.

3. Its really not clear we have the spare ground troops for the ground war that would follow or the escalation that would ensue in Iraq.

In short, I don't think we can attack Iran without a clear imminent threat of either a nuclear attack by them somewhere or an Iranian invasion of Iraq or Israel.
