"The end result of the homosexual movement is not same-sex marriage," he added. "It is silencing the opposition. The end goal of the same-sex movement cannot tolerate anybody that has an opposing view point. These kinds of cases are indicative of that."

Not all gay people belong to this "movement." There are gay people who wish for nothing more than to be left alone, so they can live their lives quietly. They know what goes on in the bars and baths, and they see the indecency on display at parades, and they are also offended by this. Many gay people do not want gay marriage, understanding the special role of marriage; they might wish for a limited sort of civil union or partners benefits for insurance.

Also, many gay people are deeply religious and understand the principle that no one has freedom of speech, religion or conscience if anyone does not have these rights.

In return, Christians and others who believe that homosexuality is immoral and unhealthy need to realize that most of the medical community and much of society no longer believes this. If they find themselves in a state-supported university whose faculty teach that homosexuality is normal and healthy, they should not be surprised. Nor should they carry on as if they are about to be fed to the lions because their point of view is received with skepticism or a particle of hostility. They should of course however expect their rights to be treated with complete respect; I find it deeply gratifying to see a leftist bully get disciplined in this public manner.

Christians believe homosexuality is immoral because God condemns it as sin, not because of something the medical community or society subscribes to.

Not all gay people belong to this "movement."

When the gay people of political power (relgious institustions included as in the case of Haggard) don't belong to this "movement", they risk having their lives destroyed by those who do.

Christians and others who believe that homosexuality is immoral and unhealthy need to realize that most of the medical community and much of society no longer believes this.

True Christians don't care what the "medical community and society" believe, only what God says in His Word.

Nor should they carry on as if they are about to be fed to the lions because their point of view is received with skepticism or a particle of hostility.

No one who reads the bible is surprised. However, the actions of this liberal professor go way beyond "skepticism or a particle of hostility". He tried to ruin this young lady's career before it even got started.

What country are you living in?!? So in the past few years we have had twenty-something states pass constitutional amendments AGAINST gay marriage by OVERWHELMING margins. That doesn't say the homosexual behavior is normal.

Homosexuality is no different than any other sin - alcoholism, addicted to porn, bestiality, etc. It has NEVER been proved to be genetic. It kills the person 20 years early. One might as well advocate for smoking - it only takes a few years off of one's life.

The liberal media has doe a great job of promoting homosexuality as "normal." That doesn't make it normal. Bestiality is now being promoted - who are we to judge?
