Shut 'em all down. The deficit would be eliminated inside of a month.

That would be merely amusing. Actually the Wicked Witch of the West want Hastings to head the Intelligence Oversight Committee.

(How fitting, we now has Wicked Witches for both coasts, just like in the Wizard of Oz. Maybe a tornado will drop a house on Hillary sometime in the next two years.)

Which committiees should the GOP boycott (no quorum, no action) in order force fairness

Are you presuming that the leadership has suddenly grown a set?

I think they could make an argument the American people will understand - our man had the most votes, he won, case closed.

History does not bear out your assumption. I think there was a Republican named Hanson that was refused a seat by the Dems in my memory, probably have been many others.

It's a mute point at this time - looks like the GOP could only shut down the Ethics Committee - which they should do if the RATS try and steal this seat.

If the DemocRATs refuse to seat elected Republicans, then I VOTE to boycott all committees. Yes, stop the yellow-dogs in their tracks with a 100% boycott of ALL COMMITTEES.

They'll do nothing. They won't even grumble.

Can you give a link to his convictions for taking a bribe, RICO, etc..... As far as I know he was acquitted by the jury that heard his case. He was impeached, convicted by the Seante and removed from the Judicary.....

do not owe the majority anything, and, with different leadership in the Senate and Hastert gone from the leadership in the House, I hope we see them give the Dems a taste of their own medicine.

Agreed. The one thing that has frosted me for a decade is the fact that the Democrats foisted Hastert and Frist on us. The time is *NOW* for us to start playing hardball if we ever hope to regain the House before another 50 years go by.

I could not agree with either of you more. However, I would like to know what the options are. What can the Republicans legally do to see that their newly elected member gets seated?

That would be a coup, and trust me, you really don't want that. Nothing good ever comes from one.

The one thing is to not roll over and play dead as they so often do.

We NEVER respond to the abuse the Democrats dole out. We always take it and acquiesce.

Unfortunately, the tone taken so far is that the Republicans have received a message to be more amiable.

I don't know what partly line they're listening to but that is the wrong message.

The Republicans won't shut down anything...they have no discipline and no clear leadership.
