So because you don't agree with it, those of us who do live in HOA neighborhoods are unAmerican?

No the concept itself runs counter to the ideals upon which this country was built. I'm certainly not saying an individual is unamerican simply because they live in a HOA community. I would say that those who use the HOA to enforce thier preferences are getting thier game plans from Karl Marx. I would go even further and say those people need to get a life and lose the chip on thier shoulder.

Groups of people coming together to make rules/law to govern themselves runs contrary to the ideals upon which this county was built?

Do you live outside the United States? Do you belong to ANY clubs and organizations?

That's just a ridiculous statement.

Freedom of association seems to me to be a VERY American principle.

As does the right to put enduring restrictions on MY OWN property.
