You're right about that. And the truth is that most of the GOPers will probably vote for the minimum wage increase.
Hope not... but I think they will go along with that.
Exactly.
Republicans are criticizing the Dem agenda. However, the voters (only needed 21% out of 40% of the votes to win in this election). We need to acknowledge the nation took a tick to the left.
We may complain about the socialist agenda of the Dhimmicrat Party here. But you have to admit that we are on the way. The wake up call was when the left were able to defeat any debate on Bush's Social Security solutions. The people WANT to depend on the government.
Universal Health Care is around the corner and you can't stop it. People expect it now. The indoctrination began in 1948 in government schools and HAS the majority.
If at least the most conservative members of the GOP would vote against it, then I think it could ultimately be spun for the GOP. If the economy goes bad, then the conservatives could blame it on the minimum wage increase, and make the argument that it was the Dems and the "moderate" GOPers that joined with them who should get the blame. Even W could be called a "moderate."
I suspect it's going to be overwhelmingly in favor of the wage increase on both sides of the aisle, though.
IT GOT THEM ELECTED.
Agreed, however I'm reminded of the old George Jones song....
It's crying time again, to which you will be hearing soon.
Their plan already worked - get the American people angry at Bush, offer no strategy or plans of your own, and use your new power to push your agenda that the majority of Americans do not want.
Contrary to the propaganda, it was a very close election.
